Wow! To quote Scott Stapp, it “feels like foreverrrrr” since we wrote, but not for the lack of behind-the-scenes Pissed Jeans activity! First and foremost, we’ve got a BRAND NEW ALBUM coming out March 1st care of Sub Pop Records called Half Divorced! Check out the cool cover:
I’ve probably always thought this (and I hope these thoughts continue well into the future), but this is our best record yet. It’s also our fastest, shortest and punkest album, so I hope those are all appealing qualities to you as well, dear reader. While we remain super proud of our No Convenient Apocalypse seven-inch single from last year, that song does not appear on Half Divorced (go pick up one of the remaining vinyl copies instead right here!) Initial copies are on Spotify-colored vinyl (we’re hoping to get in their good graces!), and available for purchase right now at the Sub Pop Mega Mart. You will NOT be disappointed if you’ve ever enjoyed our music in the past, promise!
The first ‘single’ we’ve released from the album is the last song on it (much in the way that “Freedom” was the last song on Rage Against the Machine’s debut): it’s called “Moving On”. It’s the second-longest track on the album, and probably the poppiest one, too. Gotta hook in all those lightweights who only like pop music and then crush ‘em with the rest of the album, you know? I kid - we’re very proud of this tune and happy to get it out there. So far from YouTube and various other internet comments I’ve seen it compared to Fucked Up, Idles, Constantines, Tom Petty, oi, Rancid, The Fall, The Clash, and Bob Mould, and honestly…. maybe everyone is at least a little bit right? Check out the video we made for the song right here:
There will be two more tracks released ahead of time in the next few weeks, so please, keep an eye on our Instagram page, or Sub Pop’s TikTok feed or wherever you usually get the news that shapes your interior life. I’m not gonna barrage you with newsletters every time we drop a new song - take some personal responsibility!
And speaking of personal responsibility, we as a band need to play more shows, and I swear to you, we’re trying! In fact, we’ve got a handful of excellent shows scheduled for this spring, with surely more to follow. Here’s a handy info little graphic with most of what we’ve got going on thus far:
Here’s a handy link to purchase tickets to most if not all of these shows.
I guess that’s the bulk of what we needed to share. Before I say goodbye, I just want to reiterate how excited we are to share the new record with y’all, and get out and play to some audiences we don’t frequently see (hi again Glasgow, how have you been in the past uhh SIXTEEN YEARS since we last visited??). See you soon!!
